The School Patron is a not-for-profit company established to oversee the setting up and maintenance of the school. It has special responsibility for school buildings and the school ethos.

It aims to achieve to serve the interests of the children in the school by fostering co-operation and mutual respect between parents, teachers and the local community.

The Patron works to promote the school ethos, working for a school that is:

• run by a Board of Management which is democratic and open;
• open to all: the school should be a place where every child is equally respected, and has equal rights of access to the school, regardless of social, cultural and/or religious background;
• multidenominational: the school promotes respect for and understanding of the spiritual values of people of different religions, and of no religion;
• child centered in its approach to education;
• educational and committed to encouraging all children to explore their full range of interests and opportunities without distinction by sex.
