A message from the Green Council
We help to protect the Irish environment.
We are focusing on water and saving it. We have a container for rain water and then we use it to water our yard plants.
The green council have earned the school two Green Flags from An Taisce. The Green Flag is for schools that don't waste water and keep plants healthy and stay green. We are very proud of our two Green Flags.
Water is so precious - let us keep what we got safe!
We [us in the green council] never use good paper we always use scrap paper! The school also has about seven compost bins. We are always telling people not to put plastic and papers in because its not an ordinary bin. We use compost as are soil to plant plants. We have four giant green compost in witch we wait a long time so it can turn into compost to be useable.
Did you know that 99% of the world's water can not be used because it's either salt water or locked up in glaciers?
The Green Council which is currently managed by Cathal meet every second or third week in the afternoon at 2.30pm. They have done tremendous work in the school, not only have they suceeded in getting us two Green Flags from An Taisce but they are continuously striving to keep the green spirit alive in the school. Some of their achievements include:
