Enrolment
Griffith Barracks, in response to the needs of the school, feedback from (prospective) parents, and emerging norms in Irish education, has made a significant change to its enrolment policy, effective for the 2013 intake. This change primarily relates to how parents can enter a child’s name on a list of applicants. We refer to this as the 2013 Enrolment policy. See the 2013 onwards Enrolment policy.
The current policy, which is active for the intakes in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012. This policy has been in effect for 6 years and is subject to annual review of language/context. It has not changed, in essence, since its first came into effect in 1994. We refer to this as the current policy. See the Enrolment up to 2012.
The 2013 policy will apply to ALL who wish to enter in that year even if they have a sibling in the school that entered under the current policy.
It is important to remember that under both policies all allocations in a given year are subject to availability and no application carries the right to a place in the school.
